The lines were cast off at 07:10. Weeki Wachee ran head-on into large waves immediately on leaving the harbour but then passed through the sand banks close to the shore without any problems. 1,5m to 2m waves across the course all morning made the journey quite uncomfortable and steering hard work. Bob retired to bed.

In the afternoon it was sunny and towards evening the waves decreased. The approach to Cuxhaven against the tide in the mouth of the Elbe was very long and slow, under 2Kn at times. The boat was finally tied up at 21:10 and the crew hurried to the harbour restaurant for dinner.
