After joining the boat in Heiligenhafen on 13 June, the out-bound crew made themselves at home on board Weeki Wachee.

On Saturday morning provisions were bought and stowed.

At 13:36 the lines were cast off and the voyage began. With a fresh breeze and bright sunshine the crew was in good spirits and Kiel harbour was reached in about seven hours.
