Weeki Wachee cast off at 10:15 and left Amsterdam on the canal to Ijmuiden.

There was little traffic and the canal cruise was pleasant. After some waiting for the lock at Ijmuiden to open Weeki Wachee entered the lock between two other boats behind two large cargo barges.

Once out onto the open sea, the sails were hoisted and driven by a gentle NW wind at a steady 5Kn a SW course was maintained. Noordwijk was passed  and Scheveningen was reached at 19:15.

Weeki Wachee tied up initially on a jetty at right angles to the other boats but had to be re-berthed later on instructions from the harbourmaster.
