Weeki Wachee cast off at 10:40 and motored against the wind again. Later it was possible to sail for a time but when the wind weakened the sails were dropped.  The crew dressed for rainy weather approaching Calais, but the rain passed by.

While approaching Cap Gris Nez, Derek was excited to be able to clearly see the white cliffs of Dover and to identify Dover castle. In the course of the day, several channel ferries, plying into and out of Dunkerque and Calais passed by, but no avoiding action was necessary.

Weeki Wachee entered Boulogne harbour via a lock at 18:16. While finding a mooring, unusual motor vibrations were evident and it was suspected that the propeller had collected debris.

The crew walked into town and enjoyed a quite good three-course meal in a small restaurant. Afterwards, Norbert and Joe crossed to an Australian restaurant opposite to watch Deutschland win 7:1 in the World Cup semi-final, while Derek returned to the boat to relax.
