Turning N.E. off the Isle of Wight, the boat passed Hurst castle, and entered Lymington yacht harbour but while attempting to tie up was quickly directed on to the town quay. There she was met by the harbour master and piloted to a mooring alongside two other boats, where a lady assistant harbour master collected the mooring fees.

After calling Hasler Marina, Gosport to reserve a berth for three nights, the crew went ashore and walked through the pedestrian area, up the main street, through market stalls to the church and back, stopping for cash and shopping.

Humus, spaghetti and meatballs and fresh pineapple were for dinner on board.

Cast off was planned for 08:00 but was delayed until 08:45, waiting for the Brittany ferry to depart. Meanwhile, a radio call to Yarmouth established that the marina was fully booked and the day’s destination was changed to Lymington. Leaving Poole Harbour in the company of very many motor boats Weeki Wachee headed for the Needles.
