Weeki Wachee cast off before 08:00 and headed out into the Solent. After motoring only a short while, the sails were set and with a favourable wind the boat reached 8,7Kn, close-hauled. The wind dropped later but was sufficient to continue under sail to round Spit Sand Fort. The approach to Portsmouth harbour was made from the S.E. under motor. Weeki Wachee  encountered ferries departing for the Isle of Wight and held to starboard to avoid the ferry-ship and then the fast katamaran, but off the round tower  was directed to the West side of the harbour entrance by the harbour master from his launch. Arriving at 11:40, well ahead of the ETA, Weeki Wachee entered Haslar Marina, on the Gosport side of the harbour, and tied up.

The boat was cleaned inside while  Joe did the washing.

At 16:00 the crew took the Gosport ferry across the harbour to Portsmouth, proceeded to Gunwharf Quays and decided to ascend the Spinnaker Tower...
