Derek met Jackie at 07:45 at the Marina gate and escorted her on board for the trip to Brighton. Weeki Wachee sailed at 08:10. There was no other traffic in the harbour entrance as Weeki Wachee passed by the Round Tower, from where Sue waved the extended crew off.
The boat followed the channel out to the outer fort, then set course for Selsey Bill, sailing slowly before the wind at first. After a pleasant journey under motor it was possible to sail again nearing Brighton. Then, entering harbour, the boat was rocked a lot by the waves.
After tying up, Sekt was enjoyed as the Anleger drink, in Jackie's honour. After checking in, Derek left with Jackie to take a bus to meet Rachel, Manish and Maya at a pub/cafe (where the service was very slow). After a chat, Derek walked with Jackie to the station and then returned to the marina by bus for a good salmon dinner on board.
