08 August

At 09:00 lines were cast off so that Weeki Wachee could pass through the harbour bridge when it was opened at 09:10. Then she was tied up again near a ship’s chandler and fuel station and the crew ate breakfast. When breakfast was over, and the crew were ready to move the boat to the fuel station, a flotilla arrived from the bridge, so it was necessary to wait. Finally it was possible to move to the fuel station and diesel and Holland maps were bought.

Weeki Wachee cast off again at 11:00 and motored on rivers and broad waterways all day. Later, clouds gathered and showers began. It was decided to stop at Bruinisse where there was a good, large marina.

Dinner was a deftige Gemüse-eintopf.
