Lines were cast off at 10:40. Although the forecast was for wind force 4, the sea was quite rough already in Borkum harbour channel. After turning out of the channel the wind was stronger and soon a local storm broke with string gusts, waves more than a metre high and rain. The weather continued so until 15:00.

Later it became more friendly with some sunshine but the sea remained heavy. Weeki Wachee sailed all day with a following wind assisted by the motor. It was very hard work to hold the course, especially after rounding shallows to enter Nordeney channel. The boat entered the harbour in sunshine at 19:00.
