Lines were cast off at 07:40 in sunshine under a blue sky. After 20mins, Weeki Wachee was stopped by a ferry boat and the skipper was advised that the canal was not yet open for yachts. The boat was tied up and the crew had breakfast. The boat moved off again at 09:00 after a radio announcement that the fog had cleared and the canal was open.
The canal cruise continued all day in sunshine and ended at the Nord-Ostseekanal lock at 17:30. Weeki Wachee had to wait for the arrival of a large ship which had followed her all day, but then was allowed to enter the North lock completely alone. Locking proceeded fairly quickly and Weeki Wachee crossed the Förde to Laboe amongst many sailing boats and other traffic and tied up at 19:42.
Later the crew ate their last dinner ashore in the nostalgic atmosphere of a harbour restaurant.
